Which thumbnail sizes can I download?

The biggest (usually 1280 by 720) plus 640 by 480, 480 by 360, 320 by 180 and 120 by 90. Smaller videos or older uploads may not have the biggest size.

Why is the HD size missing?

Not every video has an HD thumbnail. Older or low resolution videos only have the smaller sizes.

Can I use someone else's thumbnail?

Thumbnails belong to the video's creator. Use them for reference and learning, not as your own.
