Use Akukallos from your AI assistant

Connect Claude Code, Cursor and other AI apps to Akukallos. Ask in plain words for an image, a video, a voiceover or a song, and your assistant makes it on your own Akukallos account.

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI apps to use outside services, like a plug that fits many different devices. Akukallos provides the plug. Once your AI app is plugged in, the assistant can use Akukallos the same way you do on the website.

How it works

Your AI appClaude Code, Cursor, or another app. You ask in plain words.
Akukallos MCPmcp.akukallos.store passes your request on. It stores nothing.
Your Akukallos accountChecks your key, spends your credits, and makes the file.
  • Your API key is the only login the assistant uses. It never sees your password.
  • The key only allows making things and reading your balance. The assistant can create images, videos, speech and songs, and check your credits and recent creations. It cannot buy credits, change your account, or create other keys.
  • Your credits pay for everything, up to the daily limit you set on the key.
  • Nothing is stored on the MCP server. Your key is passed straight through with each request.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. Create an API key

    Log in at akukallos.store, open the ⋮ menu at the top right and tap 🔑 API keys. Type a name, choose a daily limit, and tap Create key.

    • Copy the key straight away. It is shown only once. It starts with ak_live_.
    • Daily limit is the most credits this key can spend each day. It starts at 500,000 and you can set anything from 1,000 to 100,000,000. Change it later with the Limit button.
    • Use one key per app, such as "Claude Code" or "Cursor". You can have up to 5 active keys, and revoking one doesn't affect the others.

    Treat your key like a password. Anyone who has it can spend your credits, up to its daily limit. Never post it in a chat, a screenshot or a public repository. If it leaks, tap Revoke and create a new one.

  2. Connect your AI app

    Pick your app. Replace ak_live_YOUR_KEY with the key you copied.

    Run this in your terminal (PowerShell, Terminal or Command Prompt):

    Terminal
    claude mcp add --transport http akukallos https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY"

    Then check it with claude mcp list, or type /mcp inside Claude Code. To use Akukallos in every project, add --scope user before the name.

    Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json inside one project, or use Cursor Settings → MCP → add a server. Add:

    mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "akukallos": {
          "url": "https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY"
          }
        }
      }
    }

    Save, then refresh the MCP list in Cursor's settings. Akukallos should show a list of tools.

    Create .vscode/mcp.json in your project:

    .vscode/mcp.json
    {
      "servers": {
        "akukallos": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY"
          }
        }
      }
    }

    Save the file, then start the server from the small Start link that appears above it.

    Claude Desktop needs a small helper called mcp-remote, which requires Node.js. Open Claude Desktop's config file (Settings → Developer → Edit Config) and add:

    claude_desktop_config.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "akukallos": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": [
            "-y",
            "mcp-remote",
            "https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp",
            "--header",
            "Authorization:${AKUKALLOS_AUTH}"
          ],
          "env": {
            "AKUKALLOS_AUTH": "Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY"
          }
        }
      }
    }

    Save, then fully quit and reopen Claude Desktop. The key sits in the env block on purpose. It avoids a space-in-arguments problem on Windows.

    Any app that can connect to a remote MCP server and send a custom header will work. Give it these two things:

    Server address (Streamable HTTP)
    https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp
    Header
    Authorization: Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY

    Not supported yet: apps that only offer a "sign in with your account" connector, such as the Claude website and phone app or ChatGPT. Akukallos uses API keys for now. We plan to add sign-in support later.

  3. Ask your assistant

    Start a new chat and try:

    • "How many Akukallos credits do I have?"
    • "What does a video cost on Akukallos?"
    • "Make a square image of a lighthouse at sunset."
    • "Read this paragraph aloud in a female South African English voice."
    • "Write a short afrobeats song about Lagos traffic."
    • "Make a vertical 9:16 video of rain on a window, standard quality."

    For anything that costs credits, a good assistant tells you the price and asks before it starts.

What your assistant can do

You don't need to remember these names. Your assistant picks the right one. They're listed so you know exactly what a key can do.

Stay in control

An assistant works fast, and sometimes it makes mistakes. These protections are built in so one mistake can't empty your account.

A daily limit on every key

Each key has its own daily limit. When the key reaches it, new requests are refused until the next day, which starts at 00:00 UTC, or until you raise the limit. You can change it any time from ⋮ → 🔑 API keys → Limit.

It won't charge you twice for the same request

If your assistant sends the identical request again within 15 minutes, Akukallos doesn't run it again. The assistant gets the earlier result and nothing new is charged. To get another version on purpose, ask for a different prompt or say "make another version".

If the connection drops, nothing is repeated blindly

If the connection breaks and it's unclear whether a request went through, the assistant is told to check your recent creations first instead of trying again.

Other limits

  • A key can start up to 10 creations per minute.
  • A key can have at most 5 videos, and at most 5 songs, in progress at the same time.
  • If a video or song fails, the credits are refunded automatically.
  • You can revoke a key at any moment, and it stops working immediately.

AssistantA standard 720p video costs 100,000 credits. You have 905,706. Do you want me to go ahead?
YouYes.

The lines in green are what the assistant did behind the scenes. If it had sent the same video request twice, you would still have been charged once.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat it means and what to do
"API key was rejected"The key is wrong, was revoked, or was copied with extra spaces or quotes. Create a new key and paste it again. The header must read Bearer, a space, then the key.
"Reached its daily limit"The key has spent its limit for today. Raise the limit under ⋮ → 🔑 API keys → Limit, or wait for 00:00 UTC.
"Insufficient credits"Your account doesn't have enough credits. Top up on Akukallos, then ask again.
"5 videos in progress"Wait for a video to finish, then start the next one.
"Generating too fast"Wait a minute and try again.
"Connection lost… may already be queued"Don't ask again yet. Ask your assistant to "list my recent Akukallos creations" to see if it went through.
"Same request as earlier"This is the double-charge protection working. You get the earlier result. For a new version, change the prompt.
No Akukallos tools appearCheck that the address ends in /mcp, restart your AI app, and open mcp.akukallos.store/health in a browser. It should show {"ok":true}.
The first request is very slowThe server may be waking up after a quiet period. Wait a minute and try once more.
A video is still "processing"Videos take a few minutes and songs a little longer. Ask the assistant to check again in a minute.

Questions

Is this free?

Connecting is free. Creating things uses your normal Akukallos credits, the same prices as on the website.

Can my assistant spend all my credits?

Only up to the daily limit you set on the key. Once the key reaches its limit, it stops until the next day or until you raise it. Set a low limit while you're trying things out.

Is my key safe?

The MCP server doesn't store your key. It passes the key along with each request. Keep the key private, use one key per app, and revoke it if it ever leaks.

Can the assistant see my password or buy credits?

No. A key can't log in, buy credits, change your account, or create and revoke keys.

Can I use it with the Claude website, the Claude phone app or ChatGPT?

Not yet. Those apps need a "sign in with your account" connection, and Akukallos currently uses API keys. We plan to add sign-in support later.

Where do my creations go?

Your assistant gives you a link. The same creations also appear in your Akukallos History, because they're made on your account.

Does the assistant make videos longer than 10 seconds?

Each video is a 10-second clip. For something longer, ask for several clips.

For developers

You can use the server directly, without an AI app. It speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP. It is stateless: send a JSON-RPC message in a POST to /mcp. Replies come back as a server-sent event. GET requests return 405.

List the tools

macOS / Linux
curl -X POST https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp \

  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'

On Windows PowerShell, save {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"} in a file called body.json, then run:

PowerShell
curl.exe -X POST https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp -H "Authorization: Bearer ak_live_YOUR_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" -d "@body.json"

Use the official SDK

TypeScript
import { Client } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/index.js";

const client = new Client({ name: "my-app", version: "1.0.0" });
await client.connect(
  new StreamableHTTPClientTransport(new URL("https://mcp.akukallos.store/mcp"), {
    requestInit: { headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.AKUKALLOS_KEY}` } },
  })
);

const result = await client.callTool({ name: "get_credits", arguments: {} });
console.log(result.content);

Spending tools (generate_*, edit_music) accept an optional variation number. Identical requests with the same key within 15 minutes are never run twice. A different variation counts as a different request.
