Choose your pace. Most voiceovers run around 150 words a minute. Use slow for tutorials and fast for energetic videos.
Read the speaking time. This is how long your script takes to say out loud without long pauses.
Trim or add words. Use the guide to match the length you want, like 30 or 60 seconds.

For a 60 second TikTok or Short, aim for about 140 to 160 words at normal pace.
Add a little extra time if your video has pauses, music breaks or on-screen action.

How fast do people speak?

Most people speak around 130 to 170 words a minute. Voiceovers often sit around 150.

How is the reading time worked out?

Reading time assumes about 238 words a minute, which is the usual speed for silent reading. Speaking time uses the pace you choose.

Does it count words in any language?

It counts anything separated by spaces. Languages that don't use spaces between words may be counted less accurately.
